SBIR Research: High-Temp Geothermal Drilling Components

E-Spectrum Technologies, a business division of AES, has successfully bid and is presently conducting SBIR research to design components for high-pressure/high-temperature geothermal drilling applications based on a high-temperature universal logging computer.

This project is expected to result in a commercially-available low-cost, high-temperature, reprogrammable Universal Logging Computer (ULC) that logging companies will be able to incorporate in their own electronics package. The ULC will be designed to operate unshielded in Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Drilling Applications up to 250°C.

Work on the project is being performed in cooperation with the Sandia National Laboratory in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
