San Antonio, TX · August 22, 2002 · E-Spectrum is pleased to announce that its proposal submitted under the U.S. Department of Energy's DeepTrek Program has been selected for negotiations leading to the award of funds under this program. The award is scheduled to be made by September 30, 2002.
Under this award, E-Spectrum plans to develop a wireless system based on low frequency electromagnetic (EM) waves to provide wireless down-hole communication capabilities for deep well gas drilling projects. Such a high-temperature EM system will increase the overall effectiveness of deep well drilling activities.
Funding for the project is expected to cover the period from October 2002 to September 2003. The company plans to submit a proposal to continue work under the second phase of the project to commence in October 2003. Work on the project is being performed in cooperation with the University of Texas Center for Space Sciences in Austin, Texas.
E-Spectrum is a high-technology engineering Company that is active in the design and manufacturing of specialized industrial instrumentation for use in energy exploration and production. The company provides products and services for a variety of clients in both the governmental and private sector.
